Pilot terms for venues
For venues taking part in the PlaceInn pilot with PlaceInn Business.
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
In short. The pilot is free and nothing in it can be bought, including a better position. You get
a venue page, check-in and discount validation, offers, events, posts and statistics. In return: keep your
information true, honour your offers, look after your staff accounts, and use what you see about guests only to
serve them in your venue. Either of us can end the pilot; you can have your venue's data deleted.
1. The parties and the pilot
These terms are between the venue that registers on PlaceInn Business ("you"), represented by the person who
registers it, and Kutluhan Ozan Köse, who provides PlaceInn as a private individual until PlaceInn
S.R.L., which is being incorporated, takes it over ("we"). You will be told when that happens. Contact:
support@placeinn.app.
The pilot is a free test of PlaceInn with a small number of venues and guests. It runs from your acceptance of
these terms until the pilot ends or either of us ends your participation (section 11). The software is still being
built: features may change, and there will be mistakes.
2. What PlaceInn does for your venue
- A venue page guests can find, follow and see your posts, events and offers on.
- Check-ins and discount redemptions: a guest shows a code in their app, your staff scan it in PlaceInn Business,
and our servers confirm it.
- Offers, including entries in Offers Picked For You, where PlaceInn matches your offer to guests
who have agreed to receive such offers. You choose a kind of guest and an occasion; you see the audience only as
a size range, and never who was reached. During the pilot every venue has the same allowance: up to 3 entries
live at a time, each reaching up to 500 guests.
- Statistics about your own visitors and written suggestions, made only from totals (section 9).
3. Your accounts and staff
- The person who registers the venue is its Owner. They can invite staff as Admin, Manager or
Staff; each invitation arrives by email with a one-time link to set a password.
- Keep access safe, give each person the lowest role they need, and remove people who leave. You are
responsible for what is done from your venue's accounts.
- Staff must be at least 18.
4. Your information and your offers
- Keep your venue's information, opening hours, prices and offers true and lawful, and your offers clear about
what they include and when.
- Honour every offer as published, for every guest who presents it while it is valid. If you
must withdraw an offer, end it in the app; do not refuse it at the counter.
- For offers with an age limit, every guest may see the offer, but PlaceInn gives the code only to guests old
enough according to their date of birth, and Offers Picked For You sends such offers only to them. You remain responsible for the law on selling alcohol, including checking age where required.
- You need the rights to what you publish (photos, logos, texts), and any licence your activities need, for
example for music at events.
5. Guests' data
We are the controller of the guests' data in PlaceInn, as set out in the privacy
policy. What you see about guests:
- at the counter, the guest's name and photo, or their username and photo if their profile is private;
- the check-ins and redemptions at your venue, and your followers, shown by the same rule;
- statistics made from totals, never for small groups.
You never see what guests answered when signing up (their dietary answers included), the lifestyle profiles
PlaceInn works out about them, their location or their age. On a guest's profile page you see their name, photo and
bio if the profile is public, and only their username and photo if it is private. You agree to use what you see only to
serve guests in your venue: not to copy or export it, not to contact guests outside PlaceInn with it, and not to
try to work out who is behind a statistic. Anything you do with personal data outside PlaceInn is your own
responsibility.
6. Content and moderation
- You can remove comments on your own posts and block a guest from your venue's pages; reports about your pages
reach you in the app.
- We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law, and restrict or suspend a venue that seriously or
repeatedly does, for example by not honouring offers. We tell you what we did and why, before or when it takes
effect, and you can ask us to look again.
7. What you must not do
- Fake check-ins or redemptions, or ask guests to.
- Offer guests anything in return for posts, follows or check-ins that did not happen.
- Copy data out of PlaceInn with automated tools, or try to get around its security.
8. How venues are ordered for guests
PlaceInn shows venues to guests in several lists, and each list has its own order, set out below. No
venue can pay to be placed higher in any of them. None of them uses ratings or reviews, because PlaceInn has
none. Check-ins, followers and offers are counted by our servers; no venue can edit those counts directly.
- Town. Venues within the distance the guest chooses (5 to 20 km) are ordered by a popularity
score made of four things, each counted up to a limit:
- check-ins in the last 60 minutes: 60% of the score (counted up to 20);
- check-ins in the last 30 days: 20% (up to 500);
- followers: 12% (up to 1,000);
- offers open to everyone today: 8% (up to 5).
Recent check-ins weigh most for two reasons. Town is meant to show where people are going now. And a check-in
counts only after your staff scan the guest's code at the venue, which makes it the hardest signal to fake. For its
first 7 days on PlaceInn a venue gets a minimum score, so that it is not buried before it has any history. When two
scores are equal, the venue with more check-ins in the last hour comes first. Distance decides only whether a venue
is in the list, not its place in it.
- Nearby. Venues within walking distance, closest first; the guest can widen the distance up to 2
km. By default only venues open now, according to the hours you publish, are shown; the guest can change that.
- Search. Results are ordered by how closely they match what the guest typed. Among equally close
matches, they are ordered by a popularity score calculated as in Town. If the guest limits the search to a distance,
closer results come higher. In the "All" tab, venues are listed before events, offers and people.
- For You. Venues and events within about 50 km, matched to the guest. The factors are:
- distance;
- whether the venue is open now;
- how its food, drinks and music match what the guest chose when signing up;
- price level;
- offers;
- popularity.
With the standard weights, distance counts most. Whether the venue is open now and how well its food and drinks
match come next. The weights then shift with the guest's profile, worked out from their sign-up answers and the
profiles they picked.
- Items that match too little are not shown.
- At most 3 venues of the same type are shown.
- A mood the guest picks favours venues whose atmosphere or music, as you describe it, fits.
- For a guest who has turned on "Limit Analytics Personalization", For You is ordered by popularity only.
- Following. Content from venues the guest follows, newest first.
- Offers Picked For You. In the guest's list, offers are shown closest first, then newest.
- Who receives your entry depends on the kind of guest and the occasion you choose, on the
guests' own agreement to receive such offers, and on any distance or age limit you set.
- Blocks: a guest who has blocked your venue, or whom you have blocked, never receives it.
- When more guests qualify than an entry may reach, those who receive it are chosen at random,
not by how valuable they are.
- Your venue's page. Upcoming events, soonest first.
What decides your place. Real activity and what you publish decide it:
- guests checking in;
- guests following you;
- offers that are live;
- accurate information about your venue.
Your venue's location, opening hours, type, price level, food, drinks, music and atmosphere decide when it appears
and to whom. Keeping them complete and true is the most useful thing you can do. These rules may change as PlaceInn
develops. We will tell you before they do, as described in section 13.
9. Statistics and suggestions
Your statistics are made from totals of verified check-ins and redemptions, and are never shown for groups too
small to keep guests anonymous. Written suggestions are produced automatically, partly by an AI model, from those
totals only; no guest's identity reaches it. They can be wrong: they are ideas, and what you do with them is your
decision.
10. Price
Taking part in the pilot is free. There is nothing to buy in it, and no venue can pay for a better
position. Every venue has the same allowance in Offers Picked For You (section 2); changing it is a
change to these terms (section 13). If paid services are ever offered, they will come with separate terms that
you must accept; we will never charge you without your agreement.
11. Ending
- You can end your participation at any time by writing to support@placeinn.app. Ask at
privacy@placeinn.app to have your venue's account and data deleted; we do it within one month.
- We can end your participation with at least 30 days' notice, giving reasons.
We can do it at once only for a serious breach of these terms, or where the law requires it; we will still give
our reasons.
- When the pilot ends for everyone, we will tell you at least 30 days before, where we can.
12. Responsibility
We do our best to keep PlaceInn working, but during the pilot we promise no particular number of guests, visits
or results, and the service may be interrupted. You are responsible for your venue, your offers and your staff. Each
of us is liable to the other only as far as the law allows a limit; nothing limits liability for fraud or gross
negligence.
13. Changes to these terms
We will tell you about changes to these terms at least 15 days before they apply, unless the law
requires a change sooner. If you do not agree, you can end your participation before the change applies.
14. Questions, complaints and law
Write to support@placeinn.app with any question or complaint; we answer as soon as we can and tell you what we
will do. These terms are governed by Italian law.
